This primer was designed with the aim of providing young audiences with useful information about the science of volcanoes, and with the intention to be used in Earth Sciences instruction, in conjunction with primary school study plans. It has been written in both Spanish and English in order to reach a wider audience, become a valuable source material at bilingual educational institutions, and to potentially constitute a guide for similar books presented at international institutions. The primer is also conceived as a source material, which can offer support for socialization processes within communities that have developed around volcanoes, and will thus contribute to the current educational literature on volcanic hazards.
